This book tells the story of Murray, a small dapper dog with a bow-tie who lives in Chicago with two nice ladies who love him and feed him cheese.  At night, in the alley behind their house, he has a business solving mysteries with his wits and his whiskers.  But...he has a problem.  He cannot solve the greatest mystery: Where did he come from?  Who is his family?  He knows that he arrived in Chicago, but he doesn't know how—all he remembers is a giant, terrifying storm, and before that everything is a blank.  When he summons his courage and sets out to solve this greatest mystery, he begins an adventure that leads him far away from home...and then back again.
